Illustrations for the book “The Journey of the Scientist Doctor Leonardo and His Future Mistress, the Beautiful Alchesta, to Slobozhansk, Switzerland” by Mike Johansen.

The series, created last winter, was a wonderful opportunity to distract from modernity without losing its deep meanings.
For me, this project is an opportunity to enter into a dialogue with Johansen, to create a kind of collaboration.

Johansen’s literary landscapes seem to me very similar to the feelings that I try to put into my magical landscapes. I let my characters into this space — both a flower and a dream. Or vice versa — Johansen’s work changed the usual roles of my heroes.
