Collection: Valentin Lapshin

Valik Lapshin is an emerging artist born in 1990 in Odessa. From street art to pop art, he has worked with different mediums to develop his personal style. 
He combines mysticism with elements of folklore and religion. The meaning of his artwork is purposefully unapparent, allowing the viewer to create their own interpretations of his exploration of the human psyche. Apart from his wide range of themes, Lapshin also experiments with mixed techniques: digital printing, silk screen printing, layering, and other materials. His creative process is not linear, combining past and modern inspirations. 

In my work, I'm often inspired by folklore. Tales from different times and cultures contain mystical and religious elements that resonate in an incredible way with my own transpersonal experiences. It is at this intersection that images are born. I translate these ideas into real-life scenes, experimenting with techniques, materials, and layering. I strive to present everything so that the meanings are noticeable but not obvious. This way, viewers can create their own interpretations of my works, allowing the story to continue.
