Collection: Andriy Aksutov

Andriy Aksyutov, a Ukrainian artist. In his art, Aksyutov delves into the relationship between people and the surrounding landscape. He believes that trees, in particular, have individual personalities, and give the land a unique sense of presence. Just like people, trees take root in the environment, grow, bloom, and wither, leaving their mark on the canvas of life. Trees form their root systems similar to the nervous system of human beings and this nondescript connection is reflected in many of his paintings.

I explore people within the landscape. I believe that trees are like people; they fill a certain space, put down roots, grow, develop a nervous system, reflexes, and character, and are reflected on the canvas like a mirror. I use composition as a constant and color as change. Color breaks down into waves and allows us to appreciate the diversity of nature that surrounds us, both visually and internally.
